Kitchenetta's Kickstarter Journey with Colectivo

In the dynamic world of culinary innovation and sustainable transformation, Kitchenetta, a catering company led by Jenny Provan, embarked on the exciting Kickstarter process with Colectivo.

Kitchenetta, a niche catering company with plans to become a trailblazing cook school nestled in Ballymascanlon, has a strong commitment to ethical and sustainable practices in hospitality. The Kickstarter process aimed to further this commitment by analysing their operations and putting plans in place for the cook school build. Once opened, the cook school will host an array of activities from culinary programmes, foraging, private events, masterclasses, and community events such as Christmas markets.

The Kickstarter process was a key step in supporting Kitchenetta toward its ambitious goals of setting up the cook school using green building best-practices, expanding the catering business in Ireland, and forging new partnerships and collaborations.

Jenny Provan, CEO of Kitchenetta, shared her positive experience with the process commenting that "This has singularly been one of the most impactful and insightful exercises that Kitchenetta has ever done." She praised the B Impact Assessment, workshops and Final Report as cornerstones for mapping Kitchenetta’s impact.

“The process was exceptionally considered and formed around my business, and it has really helped me approach my ongoing project with sustainable practices at its core. The strategy workshop was my favourite part of the whole process! Not only was it fun, but it encouraged me to think outside of my Kitchenetta box and take a deep dive into how, and why, I want the business to grow.”

Key Steps of the Kickstarter Process, designed and delivered by Colectivo:

  1. The process started with a briefing meeting and site visit to understand Kitchenetta's vision and mission.

  2. Then an Impact Assessment measured environmental, social, and governance aspects, with results discussed in a debrief meeting.

  3. In the background, the Colectivo team conducted research to identify available grants and supports for Kitchenetta.

  4. A strategy workshop offered input for the design of a roadmap for scaling impact in Kitchenetta

  5. Finally, all of the steps of the process and outputs were detailed in a reader-friendly handover document, along with crucial assets and insights.

The Kickstarter journey culminated in a heartfelt testimonial from Jenny Provan, who shared that the Colectivo team was “passionate, committed, caring and extremely hard-working. A dream team that I consider myself exceptionally lucky to have engaged with.”

Laura McDermott, Colm Rowan, Tomás Hoyos Salazar and Juan Alcalde from Colectivo had the joy of working with Kitchenetta in this process and wish them the best of luck in their ongoing impact journey.
