Reflections from Web Summit Lisbon 2025 - Part #1
What was the single most valuable insight or idea we gained from the event?
It was fantastic to see the potential in building bridges between nations to accelerate sustainability efforts! Connecting with leaders from global markets who are addressing similar challenges offers a real opportunity. We have well-developed models from our work within the EU's Green Deal, and by sharing these through strong innovation ecosystems, we can significantly speed up positive change worldwide. This aligns so well with Colectivo's belief that collective action creates impact; why reinvent the wheel when collaboration and shared intelligence can accelerate our efforts to truly transform things for the better?
Which moment from the session will stick with us, and why?
For us, a highlight was definitely the meetup we facilitated on Tuesday.
The session began with an energetic icebreaker and a reflection on broad strategic goals for 2026, where participants raised their hands to indicate focus areas like "Build partnerships" or "Launch new feature / product / service." This set the stage for introducing the highly-regarded behavioural science framework, EAST, which we frequently employ with clients to develop innovation projects.
We then illustrated how the EAST principles - making desired behaviours Easy, Attractive, Social, and Timely - could be directly applied to achieving these new objectives.
Colectivo Meetup at The Web Summit 2025
The meetup space was buzzing with people discussing and rapidly brainstorming how they could use the EAST model to build lasting partnerships at Web Summit, generating ideas like using the app's QR code for quick connections (Easy), having a clear USP (Attractive), highlighting which other organisations their company works with (Social), and organising conversations that coincide with existing commitments (Timely).
We had a room full of product owners, designers, architects, business profiles, and investors who were intrigued to learn how they could leverage these principles in their work.
As a special thank you, and to offer takeaways that go beyond theory and toward action, each participant receives a take-home pack containing resources and tools to help them accelerate their innovation efforts through a behavioural lens. To claim your pack - share your details here and we’ll extend the pack (open until 17th November: https://forms.gle/qgftpzjKsiR4r1Go8)
