What Early Learners Are Saying About Behaviour Change for Sustainability

One of the most rewarding parts of launching Behaviour Change for Sustainability has been hearing from early learners and seeing how the course is landing in real professional contexts.

As a new course, these first reflections are incredibly valuable. They help us understand what resonates, where the course is most useful, and how it’s supporting people in their day-to-day work.

Learning from early adopters

Among our first learners is Roberto Cummings Pizzuto, a Digital Business Transformation Engineer working across digital transformation and innovation, and currently studying at IE University.

In his Udemy review, Roberto described the course as: “Simple, clear, and very relevant. A great way to understand the human side of sustainability.”

This feedback captures a core intention behind the course. Sustainability discussions often focus on systems, targets, and reporting, but real progress depends on how people behave within those systems.

Seeing sustainability through a behavioural lens

When speaking with us about his experience, Roberto also shared how helpful it was to view sustainability challenges through a behavioural lens, particularly in environments shaped by constant change, new technologies, and shifting priorities.

He highlighted how the course helped him better connect sustainability goals with the realities of everyday work, from habits and routines to decision-making, adoption of new initiatives, and how people respond to change.

This is a challenge many organisations face. Sustainability strategies may be well defined, but progress often stalls when behaviours don’t shift alongside them.

Why behaviour change matters

Behaviour Change for Sustainability was designed to address this exact gap.

Rather than focusing only on what organisations should do, the course explores how change actually happens and why good intentions don’t always translate into action. By grounding sustainability in behavioural science, the course helps learners design initiatives that fit real organisational contexts and are more likely to stick over time.

Thank you to our early learners

We’re genuinely grateful to Roberto and all of our early learners for engaging with the course and sharing their reflections. These insights help shape the future of the programme and reinforce the importance of focusing on people, not just policies.

🙏 Thank you, Roberto, for being part of our first learner cohort and for sharing such thoughtful feedback with us.
